The World Of Tambun Theme Park In this research, I have selected the Lost World of Tambun a theme park of my choice. The Lost World of Tambun is an action-packed, exciting adventure with the most thrilling rides and attractions in Ipoh, Malaysia. This company runs into problems when one of their time traveler shows up in the middle of a dessert and brought to a hospital and is very confusing to the resident doctor. The doctor thinks it is an abnormally and leaves it well enough alone. Meanwhile the company is very worried that one of their time travelers has been lost and showed up dead in a local hospital. Meanwhile the company sends a professor of archeology from a project back in Scotland. They send the professor back in time to the site he is working on to see how it was when it was built. But something goes horribly wrong and the professor does not return on time and at the site the other archeologists find a scroll that is from the professor but is dated form the 1400’s this all seems very mysterious. One of the representatives form the company that sent the professor back in time goes to the site in Scotland and explains what’s going on to all the other of archeologists and asks for a few volunteers to go back and bring the professor back to the present. When the volunteer’s go back they’re reappearing in front of some knight’s scares them so there two guides are killed and they are left alone in the 14th century trying to find the professor. While they are in the 14th century they prove true some of their hypothesis of what they thought that the area looked like. They go though all sorts of trouble but eventually bring the professor back and all is well. The whole story is set in Scotland and is set in the present and the past I will be describing the geographical features of the past not the present. Scotland is north of the equator and the exact longitude and latitude is 8-2 degrees longitude and 55-69 degrees latitude. This is not the exact longitude and latitude but it is as close as I could by including the whole country. Scotland is mostly in the Western Hemisphere barely the two cities Peterhead and Cruden Bay are on the right of the prime meridian so they are in the Eastern Hemisphere. The setting is lush green and almost virgin land that has not been touched by humans.

Language and words are the most important intangible things we have as humans. Having the ability to communicate abstract ideas with others by making sounds with our mouths is what sets us apart from other Earth-walking animals, and is quite incredible when you think about it. However, when the times change, language changes right with it. We are now in what is called the â€Å"Age of Technology† and the major increase in use of the internet, mobile devices and TV has created a whole new set of words that are being looked at as detrimental to traditional language. I do not think the language of new media is corrupting communication but helping, and the idea that it is helping comes from a bias towards younger people. People are generally afraid of change. So it’s understandable why someone who grew up talking a certain way, would be quick to be against the way a new generation was talking. Older people feel as if the words that new media have introduced to our culture are â€Å"slang† and are making us dumb because it’s taking over the traditional way of speaking and writing English. If everyone had this mindset, we would still be speaking like Shakespeare. In the video â€Å"Tweets, Texts & Myths† by Professor David Crystal, he disproves the common myths of modern vernacular. Crystal talks about how this â€Å"new† language is not really used as much as believed, and that they do not hurt people’s ability to write and communicate in a formal setting. Through a classroom study, Crystal found that those students who used the language of new media the most actually received higher marks on written assignments. So perhaps new language is not hurting, but in fact helping. A big part of the movement against the new language that mass media and technology have created is a bias towards younger people, who are the ones that use it the most. People fail to realize that just because someone is young, does not mean what they are doing is wrong. Every group of people has their differences in how they say things, from rocket scientists to a sports team, yet because the young people are doing it, it’s labeled as â€Å"dumb and detrimental†. In the yellow packet we received in class, it reads â€Å"while ‘spaced out’, ‘hang’, or ‘lol’ are widespread and easily understood†¦this ‘teen argot’ is viewed as slang while the arguably even less-penetrable â€Å"’szujet’, ‘diegesis’, and ‘metalepsis’, are recognized as technically appropriate terms for professional literary theorists. (I think it’s ironic how when typing this, the â€Å"sophisticatedà ¢â‚¬  words all were not recognized by the computer). Language is very versatile and should be. At it’s core, language is nothing but a way to communicate, so why does it matter how it’s done as long as it’s done? If you’re saying the same exact thing, why should it matter if you abbreviate a few words or add a word that’s not in the dictionary as long as your audience understands? I think that we have to drop our biases when it comes to something like language and allow for everybody to do what works the best for them, because they are the only one that it effects.

Topic sentences can be likened to miniature thesis statements for individual paragraphs. The topic sentence states the main idea or topic of the paragraph. The sentences that follow the topic sentence must relate and support the claim or position made in the topic sentence.   As with all writing, teachers should first model proper topic sentences to have students identify the topic and the claim in the sentence, regardless of the academic discipline. The topic sentence requires that student plan what they are trying to prove in the paragraph before the draft. A strong topic sentence with its claim will focus the information or message for the reader. In contrast, a weak topic sentence will result in an unorganized paragraph, and the reader will be confused because the support or details will not be focused. Teachers should be ready to use models of proper topic sentences to help  students determine the best structure for delivering information to the reader. There must also be time for students to practice writing topic sentences. With practice, students will learn to appreciate the rule that a proper topic sentence almost lets the paragraph to write itself!

The compensation that they receive from the work happens to be the major cause behind seeking employment.
